Garden Inspiration

As you can remember from my post documenting the first stage of garden clearing this is the garden space I have to work with plus the added bonus of the courtyard at the other side of the property.

I have so many ideas for the garden that I have overwhelmed myself a little. Although it is a large enough space I am afraid that my mish mash of ideas and notions will make the space become cluttered and disjointed. For that reason I need to focus on the main points of my inspiration, I also plan to make a scale drawing in the planning process, all very professional indeed. Now for the pretty pictures. Lets start with my ideas for the courtyard space.

In the courtyard I want to add lights and colour. As it leads off the scullery it makes sense to have herbs planted in this area. Also a nice place to sit down and enjoy the outdoors whilst there is baking in the oven, (when it is fixed).

In the main garden i think the hardest thing to achieve well will be delineating the space so that it flows well and does not appear too cluttered. Areas that I know I definitely want to have are; an area that is just for Sebastian, possibly in the form of some kind of tent/playhouse, a kitchen area and a giant table for eating, that will most likely be on the patio in front of the lounge window.

The garden above is a great example of defined areas, obviously they have more space to play with than I do but I still feel that you can achieve the same effect in a smaller garden.

For sometime I have been trying to decide, pizza oven or tandoor oven. I have built a pizza oven before and have found a great tandoor oven building course, but which one should I have. Then it came to me...both! This is the goal.

Of course with a set up like this one will need a giant table. I have not yet found one that I really like that is big enough so I will probably end up making one.

I really want to make a simple area for Sebastian and possibly Sebastian 2, if I have one. Although there are some fantastic playhouses with slides etcetera I want to build a space that can grow with him so he can use it for longer.

As much as I love the hive playhouse I keep thinking I don't want him to climb, climbing leads to falling. I need to work on the over protective mum thing.

Inspiration gathered all I need to do now is finish clearing everything back and make a scale drawing and build the garden...so not much then!
