Cranberry & Port Sauce

This is one of the simplest Christmas recipes to make and it is so much nicer to make your own as it is far less laden with sugar and preservatives than the shop bought variety.
 
you will need;
 
400g fresh cranberries
1/2 cup or orange juice
1 cup tawny port
1tsp mixed spice
6oz sugar
 
method;
  1. Put all of the ingredients into a pan.
  2. Place on a low heat and cover. Simmer away until all of the cranberries have burst and the sauce is nice and thick.
  3. Spoon into sterilised jars whilst hot and close the lid straight away. Now you all you have to do is make the food to serve it with!
