Decorated notebooks - 3 ways

At this time of year I often become nostalgic and want to make more effort to record more fully the year ahead. I also have a head spilling over with plans and ideas I want to implement. What better way to do both of those things than in pretty decorated notebooks.

You can pick up quite plain notebooks quite cheaply. I bought these A6 ones as a set of 3 they have blank pages in so you can draw or write in them.

For the butterfly note book I simple used the same punch that I used for the paper garlands see in this previous post. You do not have to buy special paper in fact I think they look better when you use old magazines filled with a combination of text and pictures. Once I had selected the butterflies I wanted to use and how many I simply glued them to the front of the book.

For the second book I took a scrap of fabric and stitched it to the front using the sewing machine. I love to stitch paper! I did some hand embroidery on the fabric first before attaching it but it would look equally as sweet with a plain fabric patch.

My last notebook makeover is my favourite, but shush don't tell the others. I bought these cute little stamps for a £1 and I made a grid design onto squared paper. I achieved the rounded edges by using my bank card as a template. Once this is stuck to the front my last notebook was complete.

You can keep all your notes in them in the coming year. Or they make a cute gift for a friend.
