Embellish Your Cardigan - diy

Lets face it we all have those items in our wardrobe that need altering. They need taking in or letting out, re-working or repairing. That part of my wardrobe is immense. I am terrible I buy things in charity shops because I love the print and hold on to clothes when they should be passed on. So here is my resolve I have taken all of these clothes out of my wardrobe and put them in a box in my studio and set a date. If I have not re-worked or repaired them by the 1st August they are gone. No more new projects Nic, none you hear me! Project wardrobe makeover is under way here is project number one.

See how this cardigan had become puckered and needed some attention. I decided to remove the offending area and pin it you can see this in the images below.

The next step is easy but was time consuming as it is all hand sewing, my advice put on some great tunes and this task will fly by. I bound the edge of the cardigan with pretty printed bias binding using ladder stitch. I am really pleased with how it turned out.
